Faux Wood Blinds – Beauty and Practicality

Do you own any 1 inch Faux Wood Blinds? Have you ever looked closely at a window after one has been installed? Many new homeowners have wisely opted for these blinds as their window treatment of choice. Faux Wood Blinds are available in a large number of styles and colors, just like other window treatments. Wood blinds have become very popular because of their beautiful appearance, but many people do not find them to be very practical. Many homeowners are discovering that they can have the beauty of faux wood blinds, whether 1 inch or any other size for that matter, without the problems associated with real wood blinds.

Two Main Reasons

There are several reasons faux wood blinds are a superior choice. Here’s two main reasons. 1 Faux wood blinds have the appearance and texture of real wood. And 2 they are easier to keep clean. Faux wood blinds are also advantageous in places with high humidity, such as a bathroom, because you will not have to worry about warping, mold or mildew, which are common problems with real wood blinds.

Faux Wood Blinds

Wood blinds often become chipped or scratched, but not faux wood blinds. And whatever your decor, there’s probably a faux wood blind that will coordinate. It’s nearly impossible to discern faux wood blinds from real wood blinds. One of the most important features of faux wood blinds are their price, which is much less than that of real wood; an important factor for people who have homes with a great number of windows.

Two Different Blends

There are two different blends used to make the faux wood. Blinds identified as composite are made from PVC and wood pulp. PVC blinds are made only with PVC. PVC and PVC/wood pulp blinds are not only attractive but amazingly tough, long-lasting and lightweight, making for an easier installation and removal. You needn’t worry which blend is better since tests suggest there is practically no difference between the two, just a matter of which material the manufacturer decided to use.

If you are using inside-mounted blinds, you’ll need the height and width to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. The height and width of externally mounted blinds should also be measured to the nearest 1/8 of an inch but you should then add an additional 1 and 1/2 inches to the height and width for privacy. If you follow these simple suggestions, your faux wood blinds will provide you with the look and utility you want for years to come.

Installation is Simple

It’s a simple matter to install faux wood blinds – taking three measurements around the window, picking the proper size, and placing the brackets along the top of the frame.
